Welcome to the Schwob Summer Festival!

This exciting event, hosted at the Joyce and Henry Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, is designed for high school students looking to immerse themselves in the world of music.

Join us June 23-29, 2024 for a week of intensive masterclasses, private lessons, special topics seminars as well as student and faculty performances led by our staff of renowned musicians and educators. Our festival offers a unique opportunity for students of all levels, ages 14-18, to experience overnight accommodations on the CSU Riverpark campus while taking part in a dynamic and enriching program!

Whether you have already decided to major in music in college, or if you just want to enhance your stills as a young musician, this festival offers something for everyone.

How to Participate

  • Camp Dates: June 23 - June 29, 2024

    Registration Opens: January 8, 2024

    Early Bird and All-State Discount Deadline: April 15, 2024

    Final Registration Deadline: May 15, 2024

  • All participants must submit a YouTube video link to include: (2) major scales and (2) etudes or movements of contrasting style.

  • $100 Registration Fee

    Due with application

    (non-refundable, applied towards tuition)

    Residential Early-bird Rate $645

    Day Camper Early-bird Rate $395

    Residential Camper Rate $695

    Day Camper Rate $445

  • All- State Discount

    A $50 discount is available for this festival.

    To qualify you must:

    - Be selected for a 2024 Georgia All-State ensemble on an instrument that you will be playing for this festival.

    - You must perform in the GMEA All-State Festival in late February/ early March 2024 on the instrument you are applying for.

  • Accommodations for residential campers are located in the RiverPark Campus dorms in the heart of the uptown Columbus district.

  • Overnight participants will have access to the Riverpark dining facility, The Rankin Den, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. Day participants will have the option of lunch and dinner also at the Rankin Den, just steps away from the Schwob School of Music.

  • Schwob Summer Music Festival June 23 - June 29, 2024

  • The Schwob Summer Music Festival provides an immersive musical environment for wind, brass, and percussion students ages 14-18. 

  • During the festival, students will rehearse, perform, and receive a high level of group and individual music instruction that will enhance their musical, technical, and collaborative skills.

  • Participants will receive individual and masterclass instruction by faculty at the Schwob School of Music, develop collaborative skills through chamber music and participate in seminars on a diverse set of topics.
